The Pirates of the Dotombori is and has been the staple of the Kansai improvisational scene for two years and counting. Their high energy short-form shows are the culmination of years of improvisational training, shows and a shared love for the art form.
Their NEXT SHOW is JUNE 3rd @ Club Pure in Shinsaibashi.

The Pirates of the Dotombori was founded in December of 2005 after Captain Mike Staffa placed ads in the various English publications in Japan. Members of the Pirates hail from China, USA, England, Canada and New Zealand. The group began rehearsing and debuted at Balabushka’s Bar in Ame-Mura on May 14th, 2006. Since then the group has played venues all over Kansai including Tin’s Hall, Balabushka’s and Trinity Bar. In May the Pirates will storm into Murphy’s bar to perform with a comedian from Ireland. June will see the group take over the dance floor at Club Pure.
