Herb Garden Seminar
Posted by Kyle Yates in Kansai Culture
Are you interested in herbs? Want to learn more about them?
No matter how you say it, whether you pronounce the word with the “H” or without, if you are from America like “erbs” – I say both because I have lived in British speaking and American English speaking countries – herbs are tasty and essential to our diets.
Japan is a country that uses very few herbs in native cuisine. But with the influence of many other cultures in Japan over recent years, many people are beginning to use more herbs in their cooking, Japanese and foreign.
If you would like to learn more about herbs and growing them, there is a seminar May 3rd from 2:30pm to 3pm at the National Museum of Ethnology in Suita, Osaka.
Professor Nanami Suzuki of the museum will talk about herb gardens created by immigrants in southern parts of the USA.
The seminar is free.
For more information, call (06) 6876-2151.
